Stride

Program Overview

Stride is small group training program offered in fall, winter and spring seasons. Stride is geared toward any players who are looking to get in extra hockey training in smaller group environment. Elite Stride is for the serious-level athlete who is considered an experienced field hockey player within their age group. Elite Stride is for current travel team level players.

All Stride participants are HIGHLY encouraged to be involved in our Roots Fall League as well so we can build upon game play situations.

Fall Stride registration will be through the PlayerFirst Registration Platform.

 

Fall Stride & Elite Stride Details

  • Options

    Stride is for players with at least one year experience
    Stride Dates: Wednesdays Sept 10, 17, 24, Oct 1, 8, 15
    Stride Times:
    6:00-7:30 pm Grades 3rd-6th
    7:30-9:00 pm Grades 7th-8th

    Elite Stride is for players with Travel Team experience
    Elite Stride Dates: Mondays Sept 8, 15, 22, 29, Oct 6, 13
    Elite Stride Times:
    4:30-6:00 pm Grades 3rd-6th (grouped by ability)
    6:00-7:30 pm Grades 7th & 8th

    Players will be grouped according to ability/skill level development.

    Registration - spots are limited and will be first come, first serve at registration

    All Athletes will register for their age group and Windy City will group players based on graduation, commitment to college and ability/development level. 

  • Location

    Stride on Wednesday's: Techny Prairie Park Turf Fields, 1750 Techny Rd, Northbrook (outdoors)

    Elite Stride on Monday's: North Shore Sports Center, 1900 Old Willow Rd, Northbrook (indoors)

    Players can do both strides if players meet the experience level for both Stride & Elite Stride

PROGRAM OFFERINGS

FALL STRIDE - once a week for 8 weeks, skills stations and repetition of skill sets. 

WINTER STRIDE - 6-8 week sessions of skills training indoors that emphasizes 100's of touches on the ball and individual skill development

SPRING STRIDE- once a week for 6-8 weeks, skills stations and repetitions of skills sets
