TOURNAMENT DESCRIPTION

The Pumpkin Classic is a Windy City hosted tournament for 6th-8th grade teams from clubs and junior high schools. Teams attend from Illinois, Missouri, Michigan, Kentucky, Ohio and Wisconsin.

Aim Trophy

DATE: Sunday October 23, 2011

TIME: Starting at 7:30am (earliest), finishing at 4:00pm (latest)

LOCATION: Oak Park & River Forest High School, 201 N. Scoville, Oak Park, Illinois 60302, http://www.oprfhs.org/about_us/maps/.

SURFACE: 2 filled turf regulation fields

REGISTRATION FEE: $350 per team

REGISTRATION DEADLINE: Saturday October 1st, 6:00 pm, 2011. Registrations are considered as conclusive when received by Windy City with fee by 6:00 pm that day and will be handled on a first come first served basis. Once received, there will be no refund of the registration fee for any reason.

WHO MAY ATTEND: Any field hockey team comprised of 6th to 8th graders, public or private school, park district or club player

TOURNAMENT FORMAT: Up to eighteen teams, competing in 25 minute round robin format, 11 a side matches. There may be longer championship games at the end of the tournament with medals and trophies awarded to the winners. Five to six 25 minute game guarantee.USM Girls

TEAM SIZE: Suggested 18-20 per team roster to ensure that all kids play

AWARDS: Medals and Trophies will be given to the winners of the overall tournament. Up to 24 medals will be available for each team.

T-SHIRTS: Long sleeved tournament shirts with each school/clubs name will be available at the field for $20

ATHLETIC TRAINER: A certified athletic trainer from Athletico will cover the event.

SPECTATORS: All spectators are welcome, there will be no admission charged. Grandstands are at the north side of the field, and there is room on the peripheral track to observe. We ask caution when spectators are moving about the fields.

INJURIES AND INSURANCE: All players should have evidence of medical insurance in their possession or with parent or coach. In the event of serious injury, players will be taken to a local hospital by EMT. We recommend that a brief written history of each player's medical condition accompany the team with the coach. In the event of injury and unconsciousness this will assist the trainer or other medical personnel in expediting treatment.
