Windy City Stride provides additional and advanced instruction for 7th through 12th grade athletes. Stride and College Stride will have a 1:6 coach to player ratio and will be limited to 12 field players and 2 goalkeepers. College Bound Stride will be limited to 6 field players.
Spring Stride is especially geared toward three groups of players:
1. STRIDE - Serious Select and Travel players that are in Spring League. These players want to get extra coaching and touches on the ball to help their chances of making the Travel Teams or help them become better all-around players. Stride program is for 6 weeks, 1.5 hours per week.
2. COLLEGE BOUND STRIDE - Utilize the expertise, coaching and resources of Windy City field hockey and Olympian and former Division I Head Coach Katie Beach to prepare players and families for the collegiate recruiting process. College Bound Stride would include a finished resume, drill preparation and execution for video purposes (parents responsible for video taping and producing final product) and recruiting Q & A with players and parents. Each athlete will receive drill preparation and practice specifically designed to highlight an athletes skill sets before filming begins. Families will receive 15 minutes of Q & A at the start of each weekly session. College Bound Stride is 6 weeks, 1.5 hours per week.
3. COLLEGE STRIDE - is for graduating seniors who will be playing collegiately in the fall. Players will receive advanced skills training, conditioning circuits, and core training exercises during the 1.5 hour 6 week sessions. College stride will assist athletes in preparation for the start of their pre-seasons. Summer College Stride will also be offered as a continuation of the spring program.
Olympian and Former Division I Head Coach Katie Beach and Travel Team coaches will coach each session. All programs will be managed and supervised by Katie Beach.
The Glenbrook Sports Academy Fieldhouse in Northbrook will take place on a astroturf surface. Please wear cross trainers or tennis shoes.
