Senior Goalkeeper Kerry Lawler Commits to Denison University

Congratulations to senior Kerry Lawler on her commitment to be a student-athlete at Denison University in the Fall of 2017. The Division III Big Red compete in the NCAC where they posted a 11-3 conference record and 14-5 record overall. Kerry is a senior at Lake Forest High School where she lead the Scouts in cage to the 2016 Illinois Field Hockey State Championship her final year. Lawler is a quick and feisty goalkeeper. Kerry is dynamic in cage with her ability to make saves with sharp clears and stay with the play in the circle. She is an active keeper who is constantly communicating and organizing her defenders and is a true leader of the backfield. Lawler is currently a member of the U19 Windy City Fire who will be competing at the 2017 National Hockey Showcase in February. Congrats Kerry!


Senior Caroline Ross Commits to Johns Hopkins University

Congratulations to senior Caroline Ross on her commitment to be a student athlete at Johns Hopkins University in the Fall of 2017. The Division III Blue Jays compete in the Centennial Conference and highlights from their 2016 season include shutout wins over Swarthmore and Notre Dame. Ross is a senior at New Trier High School where the Trevians finished their season as the 2016 Illinois High School State Runner-Up. Ross helped anchor the backfield with her hustle and selfless play. She is persistent with her pressure on the ball and consistently looks for her teammates to help distribute the ball out of the backfield. Caroline is a long standing WCFH Travel team player and has participated and competed at the National Festival Tournament, Disney Showcase Tournament and National Hockey Showcase. Congratulations to Caroline as she continues to pursuit her dream to compete at the collegiate level-Windy City proud!


Senior Graysen Doran Commits to Washington and Lee University

Congratulations to senior Graysen Doran on her commitment to be a student-athlete at Washington and Lee in the Fall of 2017. The Division III Generals compete in the ODAC Conference and finished their 2016 season with a 13-7 record and impressive 9-1 record at home. Graysen is a Senior at Loyola Academy where she led the Ramblers with her strong defense and was named to the 2016 Illinois All-Star Game. Doran is a strong defender who uses her jab effectively in the open field and low, strong tackles when she has an attacker contained. Graysen is a selfless player who communicates well to her team as well as distributing the ball out of the backfield. Currently Graysen is a member of WCFH U19 Fire and will be competing at the National Hockey Festival over Thanksgiving and will continue to train and compete with U19 Travel Teams this Travel season. Congratulations to Graysen on her accomplishment as she continues to pursue her dream to compete at the collegiate level!

Junior Catherine Nicholson Commits to Iowa University

Congratulations to junior Catherine (Cat) Nicholson on her commitment to be a student-athlete at Iowa University in the Fall of 2018. The Division I Hawkeyes compete in the Big Ten Conference and are currently ranked #15 in the nation according to the NFHCA Division I Coaches Poll. Cat is currently a junior midfielder at Lake Forest High School and will look to help lead the Scouts to a state championship this fall with her tenacious, hardworking and fearless attitude. Cat is a resilient defender who leads the backfield with her strong tackles, interceptions and advanced distribution skills. Cat commands and leads her team from the back field with her great communication, high work ethic, positive leadership and execution of advanced stick skills in pressure situations. Cat has competed on both Windy City Travel Indoor and Outdoor Teams at The National Hockey Festival, President's Day Showcase, U16 National Club Championships and The National Indoor Tournament. Cat will continue to train and compete with U16 and U19 Travel Teams this coming Travel season. A much deserved Congratulations to Cat on her accomplishment to achieve her dream of playing collegiate field hockey at Iowa. Good Luck Cat!

Junior Jessica Hourihane Commits to The Ohio State University

Congratulations to junior Jessica Hourihane on her commitment to be a student-athlete at The Ohio State University in the Fall of 2018. The Division I Buckeyes compete in the Big Ten Conference and find themselves near the top twenty national rankings throughout the season. Jess is currently a junior at North Shore Country Day School and will look to lead the Raiders to an ISL championship and the IL state playoffs with her competitive play and work ethic both on and off the field. Jess is an explosive attacker who excels on the forward line with her speed, movement off ball and ball handling skills. She is strong inside the attacking circle with her range of powerful goal scoring shots and persistence to keep the ball alive in the circle. Jess has competed on both Windy City Travel Indoor and Outdoor Teams at The National Hockey Festival, President's Day Showcase, U16 National Club Championships and The National Indoor Tournament. Jess will continue to train and compete with U16 and U19 Travel Teams this coming Travel season. Congratulations to Jess on her accomplishment as she continues to pursue her dream to compete at the collegiate level! 


Windy City Athletes Selected to the Prestigious Elite USA Stars and Stripes Training Camp

Congratulations to Windy City alumna Elise Wong and rising senior Christen Conley on their selection to the USA Stars and Stripes Tournament and Training Camp. The camp is used as a final selection to the U17 & U19 Women's National Teams. Christen and Elise have participated in USA events over the summer where National Team coaches selected athletes to the upcoming winter event.

2016 Summer League U14 Champions

Rising Senior Julia Gottreich Commits to Bowdoin College

Congratulations to rising Senior Julia Gottreich on her commitment to be a student-athlete at Bowdoin College in the Fall of 2017. The Division III Polar Bears compete in the NESCAC Conference and have competed in the Division III National Championship game for 3 years in a row, culminating as National Champions in 2013. Julia will be a Senior this Fall at New Trier High School and will look to lead the Trevians to 3-time State Champions with her play and leadership both on and off the field. Gottreich is a versatile athlete who excels in the midfield with her speed, anticipation skills and distribution of the ball. She is strong on both sides of the ball, defensively with her footwork and persistence, and is a threat offensively with her quick shot and ability to eliminate defenders with her speed and skill. Julia has competed on both Windy City Travel Indoor and Outdoor Teams at The National Hockey Festival, Disney Showcase Tournament, President's Day Showcase, U16 National Club Championships and The National Indoor Tournament. Gottreich will continue to train and compete with U19 Travel Teams this coming Travel season. Congratulations to Julia on her accomplishment as she continues to pursue her dream to compete at the collegiate level!

Junior Greta Kullby Commits to Lafayette College

Congratulations to Junior Greta Kullby on her commitment to be a student athlete at Lafayette College in the Fall of 2017. The Division I Leopards compete in the Patriot League and finished 3rd in conference in 2016 while posting a 7-3 record at home. Kullby will be a senior this Fall at Lake Forest High School and will look to lead the Scouts to the Illinois State Finals. Greta is a versatile player with great stick work, aggressive play and anticipation skills. Greta's determination and competitive nature make her a standout on the field-she has a great corner shot, strong backhand and reverse skills and great vision and distribution skills coming out of the backfield. Kullby is an effective communicator and keeps the backfield organized and clam under pressure. Greta has competed on Windy City Field Hockey Outdoor and Indoor Travel Teams teams at the National Club Championships, National Festival Tournament, Disney Showcase Tournament and President's Day Showcase in 2016 winning gold. WCFH looks forward to Greta finishing her Senior season while having her continue her Travel commitment. Congratulations to Greta as she continues to pursuit her dream to compete at the collegiate level-Windy City proud, Go Greta!


Junior Meghan Minturn Commits to Colgate University

Congratulations to Junior Meghan Minturn on her commitment to be a student-athlete at Division I Colgate University in the Fall of 2017. The Raiders compete in the Patriot League Conference and are looking forward to an opening 2016 season highlighted with 3 home games to start their season. Minutn is a Junior at New Trier High School and the Trevians won the 2015 Illinois Field Hockey State Championship and will look to Meghan to anchor their defense and lead them to repeat as champions. Meghan is a very hardworking, determined back/midfielder who is dangerous in transition with her speed, hit and reverse stick skills. She works hard both on and off the ball to create attacking opportunities for her team and pressuring, communicating defensively to keep play organized. Meghan has been a long time WCFH Travel Team member and is currently a member of U19 Fire competing at JPOL events this Spring. She has competed at The National Club Championships, National Hockey Festival and President's Day Showcase. Congratulations to Meghan as she continues to compete with WCFH and pursues her dream to play at the collegiate level-go Meghan! 


Junior Emma Goldberg Commits to Colgate University

Congratulations to junior Emma Goldberg on her commitment to be a student-athlete at Colgate University in the Fall of 2017. The Division I Raiders compete in the Patriot League and are looking forward to a strong start this Fall for the 2016 season. Goldberg is a Junior at The Latin School of Chicago where she will lead and anchor the Roman defense this Fall in cage. Emma is an aggressive goalkeeper with excellent communication skills, strong clears and a steady presence in cage for both Windy City Outdoor & Indoor Travel Teams. Emma has competed at numerous events with both WCFH Indoor & Outdoor Travel Teams including The U16 National Club Championships with a 4th & 6th place finish, Gold Medal & Pool Champions at The 2014 National Festival Tournament, National Indoor Tournaments, President's Day Showcase Tournament & Disney Showcase Tournaments. Congratulations to Emma and WCFH looks forward to having her continue to train & lead the teams in her remaining travel career-way to go Emma G!


Junior Grace Payne Commits to Columbia University

Congratulations to Junior Grace Payne on her commitment to be a student-athlete at Columbia University in the Fall of 2017. The Columbia Lions compete in the Ivy League under the leadership of former USA National Team Member and Olympian Caroline Nichols. The Lions had an exciting Spring Season and are looking forward to starting a strong 2016 Fall campaign. Payne is a junior midfielder for the Lake Forest Scouts and will look to lead the Scouts in her Senior season this Fall. Grace competes year round on the Windy City Field Hockey Travel Teams, recently competing at The President's Day Showcase Tournament and currently at the Junior Premier Outdoor League with U19 Fire. Grace is a strong transition player who involves herself in the play on both sides of the ball with strong attacking skills to create threatening opportunities inside the circle. On defense she has great anticipation skills and determination to stay with the play. Payne will continue to train with U19 Fire as she prepares for her next level of play-Congrats Grace!


Junior Nell Van Schaack Commits to Georgetown University

Congratulations to Junior Nell Van Schaack on her commitment to be a student-athlete at Georgetown University in the Fall of 2017. The Division I Hoyas compete in the Big East Conference and ended their 2015 season with a close loss to William & Mary while holding a strong 5-3 record at home. Nell is a Junior at New Trier where she lead the Trevians to back-to-back Sate Champions. Van Schaack is a versatile athlete who can play both the forward and midfield line. Her speed, stick work skills and distribution of the ball make her a threat every time she is on the field. Nell has competed on both Windy City Travel Indoor and Outdoor Teams at The National Festival Tournament, Disney Showcase, President's Day Showcase and The National Indoor Tournament highlighted by a 6th place finish at the 2015 U16 National Club Championships. Nell is currently competing with U19 Fire at the Junior Premier Outdoor League this Spring and will continue to train with Windy City for her remaining travel career. Congrats Nell!

Windy City Athletes Recognized by Max Field Hockey as TOP 100 Field Players in the Class of 2016

 Congratulations to Windy City Field Hockey Seniors Lindsay Getz, Rose Gorski & Lexi Silver on being named to the Top 100 Field Hockey Players in the Class of 2016 by MAX Field Hockey. Lindsay Getz class of Loyola Academy 2016 will attend Georgetown University this Fall; Rose Gorski class of New Trier High School 2016 will attend Cornell University this Fall and Lexi Silver class of Lake Forest Academy 2016 will attend University of Maryland this Fall. Senior Sheridan Weiss Commits to Indiana University

Congratulations to senior Sheridan Weiss on her commitment to be a student athlete at Indiana University in the Fall of 2016. The Division I Hoosiers compete in the Big 10 Conference and are coming off the 2015 campaign where they posted a 9-10 overall record with a strong 5-3 conference showing. Weiss is a Senior at Lake Forest High School where she lead the Scouts her to a 3rd place finish in the Illinois State Tournament and was recognized and named to the 2015 All-State Team. "Speedy Sheridan" stands out with her aggressive play & tenacity on the ball. She explodes with speed with the ball, is dangerous as a defensive forward pressuring the ball and has great vision to distribute the ball to her teammates. Sheridan most recently completed with Windy City Field Hockey at the National Festival Tournament and will be on U19 Team Fire at the upcoming President's Day Showcase Tournament. Congratulations to Sheridan as she continues to pursue her dream to compete at the collegiate level-Windy City proud, Go Sheridan!


Senior Rachel Gordon Commits to Haverford College

Congratulations to Senior Rachel Gordon on her commitment to be a student-athlete at Haverford College in the Fall of 2016. The Division III Fords compete in the Centennial Conference and finished 3rd in their conference and advanced to the semifinals of their conference tournament. Gordon is a senior at North Shore Country Day where was a two time All-State Selection in 2014 & 2015 for the Raiders. Rachel is a very hardworking, coachable player who has strong possession and passing skills with the versatility to play on both the forward and midfield line. Gordon is smart with the ball under pressure and consistently looks for a pass or uses her elimination skills without causing turnovers or losing possession of the ball. She works hard on both sides of the ball by pressuring opponents and causing turnovers to create attacking opportunities for her team as well as assisting teammates in goal scoring and finishing in the circle. Rachel is a selfless player who is committed to continuing to improve her game to compete at the next level. She is currently a member of U19 Fire and has qualified and competed at The National Club Challenge and National Indoor Tournament with WCFH Outdoor and Indoor Travel Teams. Congratulations to Rachel as she continues to compete with WCFH and pursue her dream to play at the collegiate level. Go Rachel! 


Disney Junior Field Hockey Classic Recap!

Congratulations to WCFH Travel Teams U12 Blast, U12 Heat, U14 Blase & U14 Burst on a great weekend of competition at the Disney Junior Field Hockey Classic Tournament in Orlando, FL: 

U12 Heat wins GOLD! Congratulations to U12 Heat on their gold medal performance and 1-0 win over South Jersey Edge Pink to capture the Gold Medal and tournament trophy in the Pluto Flight. Heat went 4-2-1 in the tournament and played great team hockey, congrats Heat!

U12 Blast went 1-3-2 at the tournament and faced some tough competition! Their weekend was highlighted with a great 2-0 shutout victory on the first day of competition. Blast finished the tournament with two ties showing great toughness. Great job Blast!

U14 Burst went 4-5 over the course of the tournament and medaled with a 4th place finish in the Donald Flight! After a tough first day of competition Burst rebounded with 4 straight victories outscoring their opponents 14-1. Way to go Burst!

U14 Blaze went 4-3-1 in the tournament. They qualified for the championship round and faced a tough opponent in crossovers. They finished the tournament with a dominating team win and improved their play each game. Go Blaze!

Junior Christen Conley Commits to Northwestern University

Congratulations to junior Christen Conley on her commitment to be a student-athlete at Northwestern University in the Fall of 2017. The Division I Wildcats compete in the Big 10 Conference and were the 2014 Big 10 Tournament Champions, securing them an automatic berth in the NCAA Division I Field Hockey Tournament. Conley is a Junior at Oak Park River Forest High School where she is hoping to lead the team back to the Illinois High School Field Hockey Final Four to build on their 4th place finish in the 2014 State Finals. Christen stands out on the field on both sides of the ball with her strong defensive tackles, deceptive passing skills & strong, individual stickwork with the ball. Conley has been recognized as one of the top players in the country in her age division as she was named to the U17 Junior National Team this Summer. Christen has competed at numerous events with both WCFH Indoor & Outdoor Travel Teams including The U16 National Club Championships with a 4th & 6th place finish, Gold Medal & Pool Champions at The 2014 National Festival Tournament, National Indoor Tournaments & Disney Showcase Tournaments. Congratulations to Christen and WCFH looks forward to having her continue to train & lead the teams in her remaining travel career-way to go Christen!


Senior Ali Denby to Pursue Field Hockey at Middlebury College

Congratulations to rising senior Ali Denby on her pursuit to be a student athlete at Middlebury College in the Fall of 2016. The Division III Panthers compete in the NESCAC and are coming off a strong 2014 campaign where they posted a 19-2 record, were Conference Champions and made it to the NCAA SemiFinal game. Denby will be a senior this Fall at New Trier High School and will look to lead the Trevians to repeat as Illinois State Champions. Ali is a versatile player with great speed, aggressiveness and tenacity on the ball. Her hustle to stay with the play defensively makes her hard to beat as well as her strength on the ball with low tackles. Denby is a selfless teammate who looks to distribute the ball and is a threat coming out of the backfield with her speed. Ali has competed on Windy City Field Hockey outdoor travel teams at the National Club Championships, winning Gold at the National Festival Tournament, Disney Showcase Tournament and this Summer winning Bronze at the U19 National Club Challenge. Congratulations to Ali as she continues to pursuit her dream to compete at the collegiate level-Windy City proud, Go Ali!


Junior Libby Thompson Commits to Duke University

Congratulations to rising Junior Libby Thompson on her commitment to be a student-athlete at Duke University in the Fall of 2017. The Division I Blue Devils compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference against the top teams in the country and consistently appear in the national rankings. The 2014 Blue Devils made it to the quarterfinals for the Division I NCAA Tournament. Thompson will be a junior at Lake Forest High School this Fall and will look to lead the Scouts with her play and leadership. Libby is a competitor-she is strong on the ball and is known for her endline to endline runs with the ball to create scoring opportunities for her team. She has a nose for the goal and when she isn't finding the back of the net herself she is setting up her teammates with a great pass. Libby currently competes on Windy City U16 Flame where she lead the team to a 6th place finish at The National Club Championships. She will continue to compete at the National Festival Tournament, President's Day Showcase as well as on a Indoor Travel Team. Congratulations to Libby on her accomplishment and WCFH will look to her to continue to lead her Travel teams throughout her remaining WCFH career. Go Libby!


Rising Senior Claire Weaver Commits to Villanova University

Congratulations to rising Senior Claire Weaver on her commitment to be a student-athlete at Villanova University in the Fall of 2016. The Division I Wildcats compete in the Big East Conference against the top teams in the country. Weaver is a rising Senior at New Trier High School where she will look to lead the Trevians in her Senior season this Fall with hopes to repeat as Illinois Field Hockey State Champions. Weaver is a steady player who consistently works hard both on and off the ball. Claire is a strong defensive forward with great pressure on the ball and causes many turnovers to create attacking opportunities for her team. She has strong receptions and is a play maker with her speed, distribution of the ball and attacking skills. Claire has competed on both Windy City Travel Indoor and Outdoor Teams at The National Club Championships, The National Festival Tournament, Disney Showcase and The National Indoor Tournament. Weaver will be competing with U19 Fire at the National Club Challenge this Summer and continue Travel Team commitment to compete at The National Festival Tournament at President's Day Showcase Tournament. Congratulations to Claire on her accomplishment as she continues to pursue her dream to compete at the collegiate level! 


Travel Teams Heading to Nationals and Challenge!

Over the course of the next six days, Windy City Travel Teams will be competing against the best hockey clubs in the nation as they compete for the Gold. Windy City U14 Spark will be competing at the Spooky Nook Sports Complex July 9th-11th in the National Club Championships. Windy City U16 Flame will be competing at the Spooky Nook Sports Complex July 12th-14th in the National Club Championships. Windy City U19 Fire will be competing at the Virginia Beach Sports Complex July 12th-14th in the National Club Challenge. Best of luck to all players and coaches! Go Windy City!!

U10 Sparkles & Spirit, U12 Blast & Heat, U14 Blaze, Burst & Spark, U16 Inferno & Smoke and even an adult team comprised of WCFH coaching staff will all be competing in the two day event. Lake is a Junior at New Trier High School and the Trevians won the 2014 Illinois Field Hockey State Championship and will look to Maggie to lead them in an effort to repeat as champions. DeNoble is a Junior at Lake Forest High School where she lead the Scouts to a 2nd Place finish in the 2014 Illinois High School State Championships. Emma has been a long time WCFH Travel Team member competing on both Travel Indoor & Outdoor Teams. She is the true definition of versatility and has competed on all lines while currently establishing herself as a steady defender with her strength on the ball, communication and low positioning. Emma has strong attacking skills as well and is a threat out of the back field with a quick and powerful shot. DeNoble has competed and represented Windy City at National Club Championships, National Indoor Tournament and will be looked upon to continue to lead U19 Fire at the JPOL events this Spring and RCCs this Summer. Junior Lindsay Getz Commits to Georgetown University

Congratulations to Junior Lindsay Getz on her commitment to be a student-athlete at Georgetown University in the Fall of 2016. The Division I Hoyas compete in the Big East Conference and ended their 2014 season with a shutout victory over Towson University. Lindsay Getz is a Junior at Loyola Academy where she will look to lead the Ramblers in her Senior season this Fall with her leadership and play both on and off the field. Getz is a versatile athlete who can play both the forward and midfield line. She has strong receptions and is a play maker with her speed, distribution of the ball and attacking skills. Lindsay has competed on both Windy City Travel Indoor and Outdoor Teams at The National Festival Tournament, Disney Showcase and The National Indoor Tournament with U19 Ice. Getz will compete with U19 Fire at the Junior Premier Outdoor League this Spring and Regional Club Championships this Summer. Congratulations to Lindsay on her accomplishment as she continues to pursue her dream to compete at the collegiate level! 


Senior Riley Miller Commits to DePauw University

Congratulations to senior Riley Miller on her commitment to be a student-athlete at DePauw University in the Fall of 2015. The Division II Tigers finished their 2014 season with an impressive 16-3 record and 12-2 record in the NCAC.Riley is a senior at Loyola Academy where she received All-State recognition this past Fall and anchored the Ramblers with her leadership on and off the field. Riley has been a member of both Indoor and Outdoor Travel teams, most recently with Freeze at The National Indoor Tournament and Fire at the Disney Showcase Tournament.Miller is a determined player to excel on both sides of the ball. Defensively she has strength on the ball with her low tackles and footwork to maintain her position. Riley has the versatility to play the midfield line as well with her distribution skills and ability to penetrate the defense with her attacking 1v1 skills. Miller also has a quick, accurate hit that is effective in offensive corner plays. Senior Annie Stevenson commits to DePauw University

Congratulations to senior Annie Stevenson on her commitment to be a student-athlete at DePauw University in the Fall of 2015. The Division III Tigers finished the 2014 season with a 16-3 record while posting an impressive 12-2 conference record in the NCAC. Annie is a current senior at Lake Forest High School where she lead the Scouts to a 2nd place finish in the Illinois State Tournament and earned 2014 Illinois Field Hockey All State recognition. Annie has competed for Windy City outdoor Travel teams and is a smart, disciplined defender with strong and low tackles. She communicates effectively in the backfield to organize her teammates and is a great leader on and off the field. Congratulations to Annie as she continues to pursuit her dream to compete and play at the collegiate level.


Junior Camille Scheyer Commits to Yale University

Congratulations to Junior Camille Scheyer on her commitment to be a student-athlete at Yale University in the Fall of 2016. The Yale Bulldogs compete in the Ivy League under the leadership of former USA National Team Member Pam Stupor. Yale finished the 2014 season with an overall record of 3-14 during their competitive season. Camille Scheyer is a junior midfielder for the North Shore Country Day Raiders. Scheyer competes year round on the Windy City Field Hockey Travel Teams, recently competing on the 2015 Indoor Ice and Outdoor Fire teams. Scheyer is a strong transition player who involves herself in the play on both sides of the ball. Her strong attacking skill sets allow her to create threatening opportunities on attack and inside the attacking circle. Defensively, she matches up well with any opposing attacker with her determination, hard work and defensive instinctiveness off ball. Scheyer will compete with Windy City FH in the upcoming JPOL Midwest Region and Regional Club Championships this spring/summer. Congratulations to Camille as she continues to pursue her field hockey dreams both at Windy City and Yale University.


Senior Chaney Kalinich Commits to Yale University

Congratulations to senior Chaney Kalinich on her commitment to be a student-athlete at Yale University in the Fall of 2015. The Yale Bulldogs compete in the Ivy League and finished the 2014 season with an exciting overtime win over conference rival Brown. Chaney is a senior at Glenbard West High School and goal keeper for the Hilltoppers. Kalinich anchored the defense with her steady presence and strong clears in cage. She competed for Windy City Travel Indoor and Outdoor Travel teams during high school and Windy City wishes Chaney the best as she continues her dream to compete at the collegiate level!


Junior Lexi Silver Commits to University of Maryland

Congratulations to junior Lexi Silver on her commitment to be a student-athlete at the University of Maryland in the Fall of 2016. The Division I Terps, consistently ranked in top 4 throughout the 2014 season, finished their inaugural season in the Big 10 as the 2014 Conference Champions. Lexi is a current Junior at Lake Forest Academy where she lead her team to a 3rd place finish in the 2014 Illinois State Field Hockey Tournament and was named to the All-State Team. Lexi currently competes on Windy City's Flame Outdoor Travel Team that took home the gold medal at the 2014 National Festival Tournament as well as finished 4th at the 2014 U16 National Club Championships. Lexi is also a member of the U19 Freeze Indoor Travel Team that is competing at the U19 National Indoor Tournament in Richmond, VA this weekend. Silver is a speedy, tenacious forward with quick elimination skills and a nose for the goal. She is threatening on the field and uses her speed and grit to consistently apply pressure on defenders and cause turnovers to create attacking opportunities for her team. Congratulations and best wishes Lexi as she pursues her dream to compete at the collegiate level. 


Junior Caroline Miller commits to American University

Congratulations to junior Caroline Miller on her commitment to be a student-athlete in the Fall of 2016 at American University. The Division I American Eagles compete in the Patriot League and finished the 2014 season with a 9-9 record and 4-2 conference record. Caroline is a junior at Lake Forest Academy and lead her defensive unit and team to a 3rd place finish in the 2014 Illinois State Championship. Caroline is a vocal leader in cage with powerful clears. She is very aggressive to the ball and does a great job of adapting to the play. Caroline is always looking for ways to improve and has a positive attitude. Caroline is a member of both our indoor & outdoor Travel teams and just returned from the Disney Showcase Tournament where she lead her team to a victory in a shootout! Windy City will look to Caroline to lead U19 Freeze at the National Indoor Tournament. Best of luck and congratulations to Caroline as her follows her dream to compete at the collegiate level! 


Junior Rose Gorski Commits to Cornell University

Congratulations to junior Rose Gorski on her commitment to be a student-athlete at Cornell University in the Fall of 2016. The Division I Big Red compete in the Ivy League and finished the 2014 season with an 11-5 overall record and 5-2 in their conference. Gorski is a junior at New Trier High School where she helped lead the Trevians to the 2014 Illinois State Championship and was named to the 2014 Illinois All-State Team. Rose is a very strong, athletic player with explosive speed who can play in the back and midfield. She is a very hard working and dedicated athlete with great anticipation skills to create threatening counter attack opportunities. Rose has a consistent hit out of the backfield as well as a shooter in offensive corners. Gorski is a current member of Windy City Flame that won their pool and took home a gold medal at the 2014 National Festival Tournament as well as the U19 Freeze Travel Indoor Team. Windy City will look to Rose to lead Freeze throughout the Indoor season as well as lead Flame at the 2015 Disney Showcase Tournament. Congratulations to Rose as she follows her dream to compete at the collegiate level. Good luck Rose!


Emma Goldberg named ISL Goalkeeper of the Year

Congratulations to Emma Goldberg on being named the 2014 ISL (Independent School League) Goalkeeper of the Year for the 2014 high school field hockey season. Emma is a sophomore at the Latin School of Chicago and had a strong high school season allowing 6 goals in her conference games and 5 shutouts! Emma is a current member of Windy City's U16 Flame Outdoor Travel Team who won gold at the 2014 National Festival Tournament, not allowing a goal all tournament, and finished 4th at the National Club Championships this Summer. Emma is also a member of our U16 Blizzard Indoor Travel Team and Windy City will look to Emma to lead Blizzard for the upcoming Indoor Travel Season. Congratulations and way to go Emma!


Senior Lucy Pearsall Commits to Denison University

Congratulations to senior Lucy Pearsall on her commitment to be a student-athlete at Denison University in the Fall of 2015. The Division III Big Red compete in the NCAC where they posted a 10-4 conference record and made it to the NCAC Championship game this Fall. Lucy is a senior at the Latin School in Chicago and where she lead the Romans on an exciting season to the Illinois State Quarterfinal game and was named to the 2014 IHSFHA All-State Team. Pearsall is a strong and versatile player that excels in the midfield with her explosive speed and strength with the ball. Lucy has a great shot and drag flick and has been a threat on offensive penalty corners. She is a true competitor with an excellent work ethic and continues to grow and improve every day. Pearsall has been a member of the Windy City Travel teams throughout her career and is currently a member of the U19 Fire Outdoor Travel team. Windy City will look to Lucy to continue to lead Fire at the 2015 Disney Showcase Tournament in February. Congrats Lucy!


Senior Abby Warren Commits to Wesleyan University

Congratulations to WCFH Senior, Abby Warren, on her commitment to be a student-athlete at Wesleyan University in the Fall of 2015. The Wesleyan Cardinals compete in the NESCAC conference against top ranked Division III teams. Warren is coming off of a strong senior season where she was named to the 2014 IHSFHA All-State Team after leading the Lake Forest High School Scouts to a state runner-up finish in 2014 and state champions in 2013. Abby has consistently competed on Windy City Field Hockey Travel teams and is a current member of the U19 Fire team which will be competing at the upcoming National Festival Tournament and Disney Showcase Tournament. Abby is a tenacious defender with a strong stick, low tackles and great anticipation skills to create counter attack opportunities. Best of luck to Abby next year as she continues to pursue her dream to compete at the collegiate level. Go Abby! 


Wong Named IHSFHA Player of the Year

Congratulations to junior Elise Wong on being selected as 2014 IHSFHA Player of the Year. Wong helped lead the Lake Forest Scouts to runner-up in the this year's state championship game. Wong led her team on the field and finished the season with 10 goals and 10 assists. As a junior, Wong will graduate a year early and attend Princeton University in the fall of 2015 as a field hockey student-athlete. Congratulations Elise Wong!

Junior Elise Wong Commits to Princeton University

Congratulations to Junior Elise Wong for her commitment to be a field hockey student-athlete at Princeton University. Elise will be attending Princeton in the fall of 2015 to compete with the Tigers as she will graduate LFHS one year early. Elise has been a long time member of our Wind City Travel Team Programs and we wish her all the best on this exciting new opportunity! Wong has been an instrumental player on our Travel Teams with her elite level of play. In the backfield, Wong is extremely fit, confident in her skill handling passing execution and strong with her defensive tackling and intercepting techniques. Elise is also a member of the USA Field Hockey U17 National Team. We will look to Elise to continue to lead our Windy City Flame team at the 2014 Hockey Festival, 2015 Disney Showcase, 2015 Indoor Events and 2015 Regional and National Club Championships. Congratulations to Elise as she continues to follow her dream at Princeton and with Team USA.


Senior Hannah Paterakis Commits to Kenyon College

Congratulations to senior Hannah Paterakis on her commitment to be a student-athlete at Kenyon College in the fall of 2015. The Division III Ladies compete in the North Coast Athletic Conference and is located in Gambier, Ohio. The Ladies are currently 8-2 in the 2014 collegiate season and looking to capture a conference title.  This fall, Hannah leads the Glenbard West High School team with her speed and strong attacking skills on the forward line. Paterakis is a true leader on the field with her tenacious cutting, strong stick handling and threatening shots on goal. She is a threat with her give and go's, speed with the ball and commitment to excellence. Hannah has competed with Windy City Field Hockey's indoor and outdoor travel teams. Windy City looks forward to having Hannah travel with Windy City Fire Team at the upcoming National Hockey Festival and Disney Showcase as she finishes her travel team season. Congratulations to Hannah Paterakis as she continues to follow her dream of competing and studying at the college level.

Senior Amanda Bozorgi Commits to Middlebury College

Congratulations to rising senior Amanda Bozorgi on her commitment to submit her application to be a student-athlete in the Fall of 2015 at Middlebury College. The Division III Panthers compete in the NESCAC Conference where they advanced to the finals of their 2013 conference tournament as well as the 2013 NCAA Division III Regional Finals. The Panthers finished the 2013 season with a 16-3 record. This Fall, Bozorgi will look to lead the Lake Forest Academy Caxy's during her Senior season after a successful run to the IHSA Final Four in 2013. Bozorgi is a true leader in the backfield with her strong communication and ability to organize her defensive unit. She is a strong, low defender with excellent tackles, jabs and possession passing out of the defensive end. Amanda has competed with both Windy City Field Hockey's indoor and outdoor travel teams. Windy City will look to Bozorgi to continue to lead the U19 Windy City Fire Team at the National Festival Tournament and Disney Showcase as she wraps up her final travel season.
