The events below are competitions that are open to 5th through 8th grade players that are currently in the 2010 Winter Club. The entry point for these events is to be registered and attending Winter Club. Players will be sent home with information about the Windy City Select Teams on the first day of Winter Club in December. Players will indicate to their team coaches at the second session if they would like to be on these teams. Up to 36 5th through 7th graders and 36 8th graders will be selected. These players are required to compete in the Windy City Select Team Spring League at Northwestern University in March, April and May. Dates for Spring League are on the web site calendar also in the Select Team Registration explanation. At the completion of Spring League, the 36 players in each age group will be divided into two teams. These teams are required to compete in several of the events listed below. Illinois players are behind in competition at the U14 level of play. We would like to officially organize this level with the attendance at competitions and give our younger players regional exposure to competition. TO DETERMINE YOUR AGE GROUP IN 2010: Take your age on January 1, 2010, If you are 13 or under on January 1, 2010 then you are in the U14 age group, If you are 14 or 15 on January 1, 2010 then you are in the U16 age group, If you are 16 or older on January 1, 2010 then you are in the U19 age group.
